Bill Clinton's Support of McCain

It is quite interesting to me to see President Clinton supporting McCain in the past few weeks.  There was a time when most conservatives believed that you could tell when he was lying (his lips were moving).  However, now he seems to be supporting both sides of the debate and some would say the fact that he is supporting McCain at all raises eyebrows.

After seeing his interview with Greta Van Susteren on Fox the other night it was obvious to me that he wanted to say a lot more about Obama's association with Rev. Wright.  His hesitation (and struggle to find the right words) to answer questions about that association was either a feigned mind slip or a concealed attempt to viewers to say "I am really concerned myself".

I wouldn't be surprised if President Clinton held a press conference in the coming days and made a statement like this:  " I realize that I am one of the most important political figures in the country and the Democratic Party and it cause me great pain to come to you today with this message.  I have to announce that I am throwing my support behind McCain and ask you to do the same."  I think that if he can find a way to say this "and" maintain Hillary's chance to run in 2012, and not decimate his party he will do it.  I think he is dying to do it, for the sake of the country.
